I have lived in Abbeville all my life; I live here with my wife of over 40 years Marie. We have three great Sons Tyler, Mac and Austin also we have 6 grandchildren. My career as a Barber began in 1991 when I had grown dissatisfied with my career as a law enforcement officer. I soon found that being a public servant in a different way was my calling. I became licensed in the State of South Carolina as a Master Hair Care Specialist in 1992 and since that time have attended many other continuing education programs in the hair care industry. I became a Barber Instructor in 1998 and since that time have trained over 20 Master Barbers or Master Hair Care Specialists some who have remained in the business and some that have since left. I have truly enjoyed white I do and am thankful to God for leading me down this path.
Amber Overholt
Master Hair Care Specialist
I am Amber Overholt; I live in Abbeville County with my husband. My husband and I have 2 grown children we have enjoyed seeing grow up. My career as a Master Hair Care Specialist began in 2007 when I began training at Tom’s Place. I am licensed in the State of South Carolina as a Master Hair Care Specialist, my specialties are lady and men haircuts, color, highlights, perms, facial waxing and “ listening”. I work mainly by appointment but if I have a free moment I will do a walk in.
Austin South
Master Barber
I am Austin South; I live in Abbeville with my wife and 3 children. My desire to become a Barber began just after high school when I started working at Tom’s Place being trained by my dad Tom, that was in 2009 and I have been there ever since. I am licensed in the state of South Carolina as a Master Barber and specialize in men’s haircuts, shaves, beard trims and beard shaping. I mainly work by appointment but if I don’t have a scheduled appointment I will accept walk ins.
Dakota Flannery
Master Barber
I am Dakota Flannery, I live in Greenwood with my wife and little girl. I came to Tom’s Place from Florence Kentucky where I studied the art of being a Barber. I began working at Tom’s Place in 2022 just after I moved to the area. My specialty is male haircuts, shaves and beard shaping. I do work by appointment and some walk ins.
Chassity Strawhorn
Master Hair Care Specialist
I am Chassity Strawhorn, born and raised in Abbeville. I am married to Rusty Strawhorn and we have 3 sons Hayden, Jonah, and Luke. I have been a Master Hair Care Specialist since 1999. I have worked at Tom’s Place since my 20s but when I had my sons I stayed home to raise them. I came back to work at the Barber Shop in 2021 and work there on Friday and Saturday. I specialize in men’s and ladies haircuts. I work by appointment and walk ins.
